O Corpo de Bombeiros Voluntários e o Samu foram acionados pela família da criança até a Rua Friedrich Duwe, no bairro Rio da Luz. No local, os socorristas encontraram o menino em parada cardiorrespiratória, com afogamento grau 6, considerado o mais grave.

As manobras de reanimação duraram cerca de uma hora no local, conforme o Samu. Logo após, a criança foi encaminhada ao Hospital Jaraguá e imediatamente levada à UTI.
A equipe do helicóptero Arcanjo também prestou apoio na ocorrência e acompanhou o transporte da vítima dentro da ambulância.
