O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva rechaçou nesta quarta-feira (19/03) o avanço do conflito no Oriente Médio e afirmou que a alta do diesel é uma "desgraça" provocada pelos "ricos". Em evento realizado em Brasília, Lula culpou os países integrantes do Conselho de Segurança pela guerra dos Estados Unidos e Israel contra o Irã e disse que os "tiros" dados pelo presidente Donald Trump fazem o preço do combustível aumentar no mundo inteiro.
"Nós aqui, que não temos nada a ver com isso, a 14 mil quilômetros do Irã, por que temos que pagar o preço do combustível? Por irresponsabilidade dos cinco membros do Conselho de Segurança da ONU. Quem são eles? EUA, Rússia, China, França e Inglaterra, cinco países que produzem mais armas, bomba atômica, têm maior poder bélico. Eles decidiram que são donos do mundo e resolveram atacar o que eles quiserem. Esse prejuízo está vitimando quem?", declarou o presidente ao discursar no Prêmio Mulheres das Águas.
Lula ainda afirmou que empresas tiram "proveito da desgraça", ao se referir às distribuidoras de combustível que estão usando o benefício do governo, de zerar o PIS e a Cofins sobre o diesel, para fazer caixa, e não estão repassando a diminuição do preço ao consumidor.
"Os tiros que o Trump deu no Irã, estão fazendo o combustível aumentar no mundo inteiro. Um barril de petróleo saiu de 65 para 120 dólares, aqui tomamos a decisão para não deixar o preço chegar, mas quando as pessoas não prestam não tem jeito. Por que o álcool aumentou? Por que a gasolina aumentou se somos autossuficientes? Porque está cheio de gente que gosta de tirar proveito da desgraça", denunciou.
