No comunicado, o governo americano afirmou: "Alerta mundial: o Departamento de Estado aconselha os americanos em todo o mundo, especialmente no Oriente Médio, a redobrarem a cautela. Os americanos no exterior devem seguir as orientações contidas nos alertas de segurança emitidos pela embaixada ou consulado dos EUA mais próximo". O texto também informa que "fechamentos periódicos do espaço aéreo podem causar transtornos em viagens".
A publicação ainda acrescenta que "instalações diplomáticas americanas, inclusive fora do Oriente Médio, têm sido alvo de ataques" e que "grupos que apoiam o Irã podem atacar outros interesses americanos no exterior ou locais associados aos Estados Unidos e/ou a americanos em todo o mundo".
