BTG Pactual sofre ataque hacker e suspende Pix
De acordo com a instituição financeira, os recursos afetados não pertenciam a clientes, mas a valores mantidos junto ao BC
O BTG Pactual foi alvo de um ataque hacker neste domingo, 22, que atingiu operações via Pix e levou à suspensão temporária do serviço.
O banco confirmou a ocorrência de "atividades atípicas relacionadas ao Pix".
O desvio inicial pode ter chegado a cerca de R$ 100 milhões. Parte significativa do montante teria sido recuperada ao longo do dia, restando entre R$ 20 milhões e R$ 40 milhões a serem recuperados.
De acordo com o banco, os recursos afetados não pertenciam a clientes, mas a valores mantidos junto ao Banco Central do Brasil.
A instituição também afirmou que não houve comprometimento de dados.
"Não houve acesso a contas de clientes e nenhum dado de correntista foi exposto", diz BTG em nota.
Histórico de ataques
O banco suspendeu as transações via Pix como medida preventiva enquanto apura o caso.
"Enquanto investiga o caso, por medida de precaução, as operações por Pix estão suspensas. O BTG Pactual reforça, ainda, que a segurança das informações é prioridade e está disponível em caso de dúvidas em seus canais de atendimento", acrescenta a nota.
O Banco Central identificou indícios de irregularidades ainda nas primeiras horas do dia e emitiu alertas. Não há indicação de que os sistemas da autoridade monetária tenham sido comprometidos.
O episódio se soma a uma série de ataques recentes envolvendo o sistema financeiro.
Em casos anteriores, empresas de tecnologia que prestam serviços a bancos foram alvo de invasões que resultaram em desvios de grandes valores.
Em junho do ano passado, um ataque à empresa C&M Software desviou mais de R$ 800 milhões via Pix. Já em setembro, uma invasão à Sinqia levou ao desvio de cerca de R$ 710 milhões, embora a maior parte tenha sido bloqueada.
