Mísseis atingem cidades no sul de Israel
Além de Arad, mísseis iranianos também atingiram neste sábado, 21, a cidade de Dimona, localizada no deserto do Negev.
A região abriga uma instalação nuclear que Israel nunca confirmou oficialmente, mas que especialistas consideram parte do programa atômico do país.
Segundo relatos, o impacto direto de um míssil causou danos consideráveis na cidade.
Durante a visita a Arad, Netanyahu orientou moradores a seguirem as recomendações das autoridades militares e procurarem abrigo sempre que sirenes alertarem para novos ataques. "Hoje toda a nação é uma linha de frente", afirmou o primeiro-ministro.
Sistema Domo de Ferro intercepta maioria dos disparos
Na madrugada deste domingo, ao menos seis mísseis iranianos conseguiram ultrapassar o sistema de defesa israelense e explodiram em território do país.
A maioria das vítimas sofreu ferimentos leves. Ao todo, 175 pessoas receberam atendimento médico, enquanto um homem permanece em estado grave.
As Forças Armadas de Israel informaram que o Domo de Ferro, sistema usado para interceptar projéteis, manteve o desempenho esperado.
Segundo um porta-voz militar, cerca de 92% dos mais de 400 mísseis lançados pelo Irã foram interceptados.
