O governo de Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva vai indicar Guilherme Mello para a presidência do conselho de administração da Petrobras (PETR4), depois que Bruno Moretti renunciou ao cargo para ser nomeado ministro do Planejamento e Orçamento, disse a Folha de S.Paulo.
Mello é atualmente secretário de Política Econômica do Ministério da Fazenda e está no cargo desde o início da gestão de Fernando Haddad. Ele foi assessor econômico de Lula na campanha eleitoral de 2022.
A Lei das Estatais veda a indicação de ministros para diretorias ou conselhos de estatais.
Haddad chegou a defender Mello para a diretoria do Banco Central, mas a indicação nunca foi formalizada por Lula e enfrentava resistência dentro do próprio BC. No mercado financeiro, seu nome era visto com desconfiança.
