Aliança internacional projeta reconstrução de 400 escolas para enfrentar colapso do ensino em Gaza
Com mais de 90% da rede de ensino em ruínas devido às ofensivas israelenses, o novo plano de reconstrução estabelece uma frente de emergência para restaurar parte da infraestrutura devastada.
Antes do atual conflito, a população de Gaza tinha um dos mais altos índices de alfabetização do mundo que figuravam entre os mais altos do mundo, com índices frequentemente superiores a 97% para pessoas acima de 15 anos.
Em curto prazo, o plano é que iniciativas internacionais sigam auxiliando a implementar espaços temporários de aprendizado. Atualmente, mais de cem unidades em tendas oferecem suporte para cerca de 135 mil jovens.
Nesses locais, estudantes aprendem matérias tradicionais como matemática e leitura e também recebem acolhimento e apoio psicossocial.
As estruturas provisórias também funcionam como centros de triagem para serviços de saúde e nutrição e oferecem estrutura básica de higiene, como banheiros e lavatórios.
