O Governo do Ceará anunciou a construção de uma nova praça pública no entorno do campus do Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), em Fortaleza.
O projeto contará com investimento de aproximadamente R$ 3,2 milhões, oriundos do Tesouro Estadual, e integra o conjunto de ações urbanísticas ligadas à ampliação de espaços públicos de qualidade nas cidades cearenses.

O anúncio foi feito pelo governador Elmano de Freitas durante a cerimônia de entrega da primeira etapa do campus do ITA, na quarta-feira passada, 1º. A nova estrutura será batizada de Praça Marechal do Ar Casimiro Montenegro Filho, em homenagem ao cearense fundador do ITA.
Com área prevista de 4.420 metros quadrados, o espaço será voltado para lazer, prática esportiva e convivência comunitária. O projeto inclui quadra poliesportiva, rampa de skate, bicicletário, brinquedopraça e academia ao ar livre, além de intervenções de urbanização, paisagismo e revitalização de áreas verdes.
Prazo de conclusão e impacto urbano
Além da estrutura prevista, o projeto inclui melhorias urbanísticas que visam tornar o ambiente mais acessível e seguro para a população. A proposta também contempla a valorização de áreas verdes e a criação de espaços de convivência que atendam diferentes faixas etárias.
A previsão é que as obras sejam concluídas até agosto de 2027. A nova praça deve funcionar como um ponto de integração entre o campus acadêmico e a comunidade local, ampliando o uso social do entorno.
