Com a chegada do Carnaval, além da festa, é preciso atenção a situações que podem colocar turistas e foliões em risco. Em Salvador (BA), ao menos seis pessoas foram assassinadas em 2024 após fazerem gestos associados a facções criminosas.
Entre os sinais que exigem cuidado estão:
O número 2, que no contexto do tráfico significa "tudo 2", saudação ao Comando Vermelho (CV);
O número 3, interpretado como "tudo 3", em referência ao Bonde do Maluco (BDM), facção rival;
