A juíza Eline do Amaral Pinto decretou a prisão preventiva do comandante da lancha Lima de Abreu, Pedro José da Silva Gama, de 43 anos, que naufragou na tarde de sexta-feira (13/2) no Encontro das Águas que provocou a morte de duas pessoas, mais de 70 resgatados e sete passageiros ainda desaparecidos.
De acordo com o despacho da magistrada, a medida tem como objetivo a garantia da ordem pública e para assegurar a aplicação da lei penal. Ela ainda determina que o piloto após preso seja recolhido em uma unidade prisional.
Conforme o mandado de prisão, Pedro José está indiciado no artigo 121 do Código Penal Brasileiro que define o crime de homicídio, que é o ato de "matar alguém", com pena de reclusão de 6 a 20 anos para a modalidade simples.
Pedro José foi resgatado e preso em flagrante pela Polícia Civil, porém foi colocado em liberdade após ter pago fiança. Ainda o não há informações se ele já está preso.
