Conforme a Secretaria da Segurança Pública e Defesa Social (SSPDS), foi preciso realizar uma negociação com o homem para a criança ser libertada e ele se rendesse.
"Equipes do Núcleo Operacional do Departamento de Polícia Metropolitana (DPM) da PCCE (Polícia Civil do Ceará), e do Policiamento Ostensivo Geral (POG), do Batalhão de Operações Especiais (Bope) e da Subagência de Inteligência da Polícia Militar (SAI) do 24º Batalhão da PMCE foram acionadas para a ocorrência", afirmou a SSPDS.
