Nova UPA de Barra Velha é entregue e inicia fase final antes de abrir ao público

A unidade conta com área total de 4.328,29 metros quadrados, sendo 2.470,34 metros quadrados de área edificada. De acordo com a prefeitura, a UPA tem um espaço moderno, funcional e adequado às exigências do atendimento em saúde.

A estrutura fica localizada no bairro Icaraí, na região central da cidade e com acesso facilitado para à BR-101. Para o prefeito de Barra Velha, Daniel Pontes da Cunha, a nova estrutura permitirá um atendimento mais adequado à população, considerando que o espaço atual já não comporta a alta demanda existente.

Atualmente, o PA de Barra Velha realiza, em média, oito mil atendimentos mensais na baixa temporada, podendo chegar a 10 mil na alta temporada.

Apesar da obra já ter sido entregue ao governo municipal, ainda não há uma data definida para a inauguração da unidade, já que os mobiliários ainda serão instalados no local.
A obra foi executada em duas etapas contratuais. A primeira etapa teve início em 28 de novembro de 2022 e foi concluída em 1º de agosto de 2023. A segunda etapa iniciou em 3 de junho de 2024, com encerramento em 30 de janeiro de 2026.
Para a execução da obra, foram aplicados recursos da Câmara Municipal de Vereadores de Barra Velha, do município, do governo do Estado e da Assembleia Legislativa de Santa Catarina (Alesc).
