A polícia prendeu o motorista suspeito de atropelar e matar duas ciclistas na RS-115, em Três Coroas, no Vale do Paranhana. O acidente foi registrado no início da manhã deste sábado (21), no quilômetro 18 da rodovia, no sentido Três Coroas-Gramado. As identidades das vítimas fatais ainda não foram divulgadas.
De acordo com o Comando Rodoviário da Brigada Militar, as ciclistas trafegavam pela rodovia quando foram atingidas por um automóvel. Após o atropelamento, o condutor fugiu do local sem prestar socorro às vítimas.
Durante o atendimento da ocorrência, policiais localizaram uma placa veicular entre os destroços, o que possibilitou o avanço rápido das investigações. Com o auxílio do cerceamento eletrônico, as equipes identificaram o suspeito, que foi localizado e preso em sua residência, também em Três Coroas.
O veículo envolvido, um Fiat Palio, foi encontrado e apreendido para perícia. O homem detido não teve a identidade informada pelas autoridades até o momento.
Além das duas mortes confirmadas, uma terceira ciclista ficou gravemente ferida e foi encaminhada ao hospital da região. O estado de saúde dela inspira cuidados.
Em razão do acidente, a RS-115 permanece totalmente bloqueada nos dois sentidos. O tráfego está sendo desviado por vias internas do município de Três Coroas. As circunstâncias do atropelamento seguem sob investigação.
