Senador e general da reserva, Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos) afirmou que o julgamento do Superior Tribunal Militar (STM) que pode resultar na perda da patente do ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro e de outros quatro militares ocorre "na esteira das injustiças ocorridas no processo conduzido ilegalmente pelo STF" e classificou o caso como "extremamente desgastante".
Para o ex-vice-presidente, o processo atinge oficiais que, segundo ele, "dedicaram toda uma vida ao Exército e à nação" e agora "serão julgados se infringiram, ou não, a honra militar".
"O julgamento acontece na esteira das injustiças ocorridas no processo conduzido ilegalmente pelo STF. No STM serão julgados se infringiram, ou não, a honra militar. Extremamente desgastante para quem dedicou toda uma vida ao Exército e à nação", avaliou, em conversa com a coluna.
Além de Bolsonaro, capitão da reserva, também são alvos do julgamento o general Augusto Heleno, ex-chefe do GSI; o general Paulo Sérgio Nogueira, ex-ministro da Defesa; o general Walter Braga Netto, ex-ministro da Casa Civil e candidato a vice em 2022; e o almirante Almir Garnier, ex-comandante da Marinha.
Bolsonaro e os demais militares foram condenados pelo STF por tentativa de golpe de Estado. Na mesma decisão, a Corte determinou que o caso fosse comunicado ao STM para que fosse avaliada a eventual perda das patentes dos militares envolvidos.
