Além do pedido de socorro via WhatsApp, segundo a investigação, a vítima também tentou ligar, mas não foi atendida por sua mãe, que dormia, por volta das 3h30min. Ela acordou somente após receber uma chamada telefônica do suspeito. Sem ter retorno de nenhum dos dois, resolveu ir até o apartamento da filha na avenida Presidente Vargas, na área central de Nova Prata, mas a porta estava trancada.
Uma guarnição da 3ª Companhia Independente de Polícia Militar entrou no imóvel, encontrando os corpos no quarto de Roseli Albuquerque. Ela teria sido estrangulada. O homem morreu com corte de faca no pescoço. O filho do casal, que tem 26 anos e foi diagnosticado com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA), dormia noutro cômodo e, por isso, não presenciou os fatos.
O casal ficou unido por quase 30 anos, mas estava separado há cerca de seis meses. Pessoas próximas à vítima relataram, em depoimento na DP de Nova Prata, que ela sofria ameaças no contexto de violência doméstica. Não havia qualquer medida protetiva de urgência entre as partes.
A delegada de Nova Prata, Liliane Pasternak Krann, reafirma que o homem tinha as chaves do apartamento da ex-esposa, mesmo após ter deixado de morar com ela. O filho deles está sob os cuidados da avó materna.
"Apesar de separados, ainda aparentavam manter um relacionamento amigável. Por isso, o homem ainda tinha as chaves do apartamento. Além disso, era funcionário do Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência (Samu), mostrando-se acima de qualquer suspeita, pelo menos aos olhares externos. Fato é que o casal tinha um histórico bastante conturbado, mas não havia registro policial nesse sentido", ponderou a delegada.
