Vittorio Medioli destaca passo importante na economia circular e descarbonização do setor automotivo
Na ocasião, ele agradeceu ao vice-presidente da República, Geraldo Alckmin, pelo apoio ao projeto, que está alinhado ao Programa Mover e à Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos (PNRS). "Por que uma empresa de logística acabou se envolvendo nisso? O Grupo SADA entrou no setor de autopeças, da indústria, da geração de biocombustíveis e de uma infinidade de frentes. Temos uma mentalidade muito aberta e enxergamos o problema com a amplitude necessária para a escolha de soluções", destacou o empresário.
A destinação dos ELVs (End-of-Life Vehicles – veículos em fim de vida) é um desafio para a descarbonização. A IGAR entra nesse contexto justamente para ajudar a solucionar uma questão estrutural da frota brasileira, uma das mais velhas do mundo, com média de 10 anos e 11 meses, segundo o Sindipeças, sindicato que representa os produtores de peças de veículos. Em geral, veículos mais antigos implicam maior emissão de gases de efeito estufa.
"A IGAR materializa, na prática, as diretrizes do Programa Mover, que promove a economia circular, a reciclagem, a descarbonização e a logística reversa. O projeto consolida mais de duas décadas de estudos contínuos, desenvolvidos em parceria com players do setor automotivo, e está preparado para certificar a reciclabilidade de milhares de veículos obsoletos. Com capacidade para desmontar e descontaminar até 300 mil veículos, a iniciativa contribui diretamente para um futuro mais limpo e para a melhoria do ambiente", completa Vittorio Medioli.
O vice-presidente da Anfavea e da Stellantis, Márcio de Lima Leite, enfatizou, durante o evento, o protagonismo do setor: "Muitas vezes há um questionamento sobre a indústria automobilística e o meio ambiente. No entanto, ela tem sido a grande responsável pelo amadurecimento do processo de descarbonização no Brasil nos últimos anos", ponderou.
