Anúncio da GWM no ES dá 'empurrão' em projeto bilionário da ArcelorMittal

Claro, eles precisam consumir aço produzido no Brasil", explicou Jorge Oliveira, CEO ArcelorMittal Aços Planos América Latina e presidente da ArcelorMittal Brasil, que foi ao Palácio Anchieta, nesta terça-feira (24), para o anúncio da GWM.
O executivo disse que a decisão final da ArcelorMittal sobre o projeto bilionário previsto para o Espírito Santo será tomada até o final do primeiro semestre de 2026. O grande entrave para o investimento segue sendo o derrame de aço importado a preços abaixo dos praticados pelo mercado. O segmento reclama que muito aço chinês, a preços subsidiados, está entrando no Brasil, prejudicando os resultados e os investimentos da indústria local. A decisão do governo brasileiro de adotar práticas antidumping (dumping significa vender a preços abaixo do custo de produção, por isso, é considerada predatória) em relação às importações de aço de China e Índia ajudou.
A fábrica que a GWM disse que vai fazer em Aracruz terá capacidade para produzir até 200 mil carros por ano, portanto, uma das maiores do Brasil. Com a demanda aumentando e barreira antidumping, a tomada de decisão ficou um pouco mais simples para a ArcelorMittal.
