Os 89 anos do poeta Paulo Bomfim
Certa vez ocupando a tribuna, em reunião alusiva às comemorações de mais um aniversário da Revolução de 1932, junto aos colegas de sodalício, o poeta evocou a figura do jurista Ibrahim Nobre, contando uma passagem interessante sobre esse intelectual em breve discurso:
"Oito de julho de 1932, no Largo da Sé, o comício fervia indignação. Corria de boca em boca a notícia que Oswaldo Aranha, porta - voz do ditador Getúlio Vargas, encontrava-se em São Paulo, na Vila Kyrial, em Vila Mariana, residência de seu parente Freitas Valle. Os manifestantes enfurecidos saem rumando para esse local. O tribuno Ibrahim Nobre fala a seu amigo Menotti Del Picchia que o acompanhava: - Vamos pegar um carro e ir para lá. No relato que o autor de 'Juca Mulato' me fez, - conta Paulo Bomfim - chegaram quando o povo se preparava para arrombar os portões da histórica mansão. Ibrahim sobe numa mureta e encostando o revólver na têmpora brada: - 'Paulistas, se vocês mancharem as mãos num gesto de covardia eu me mato de vergonha!' A multidão que o venerava, respeita sua voz e pouco a pouco vai se dispersando. O orador com aquele gesto salvara a vida do inimigo político. Anos mais tarde, conta Paulo Bomfim, indaguei a ele o que haveria acontecido se sua ordem não fosse cumprida. E ele me diz: - Eu teria me matado, porque há passos que não tem retorno. Este era Ibrahim Nobre, que quando promotor, a partir de 1930, bradava no Tribunal do Júri: 'Eu acuso ditadura!' Plantava-se no Palácio da Justiça a semente da revolução que lutaria pela lei e pelos brios de nossa gente."
Após a breve explanação, o lendário poeta é aplaudido efusivamente. Lembranças à parte, neste 30 de setembro seguimos nós comemorando mais um aniversário dele, o Príncipe dos Poetas Brasileiros e especialmente, o Poeta da cidade de São Paulo. Paulo Bomfim, que Deus lhe conceda ainda muitos de vida para que continue a nos brindar com sua genialidade.
