"Eu ainda tenho as feridas, estão cicatrizadas muito recentemente. Toda a violência política que eu sofri, que me tirou do País em 2018, e me fez viver um exílio de quatro anos e meio. Então, eu pensei muito na minha família, pensei muito em mim, no meu trabalho, porque eu sou um intelectual público, eu escrevo, publiquei dois livros, um em 2024 e outro em 2025, estou escrevendo um novo, então seria interromper esse trabalho meu para me dedicar novamente à política", afirmou.
Jean reforçou que, caso tenha a infraestrutura e segurança que lhe foi garantida pelo PT, deve, sim, sair candidato. A posição a que ele deve concorrer é a de deputado federal pelo Estado de São Paulo.
Ele detalhou ainda que o convite que recebeu foi para integrar um movimento chamado "Um Outro Congresso é Possível". "É um movimento liderado por Márcia Tiburi, João Pacífico, Eduardo Moreira, Zélia Dunca, tem uma galera, um conjunto de artistas, Paulo Scott, Tom Faria, Deise Bregantini, da revista Cult, um grupo de intelectuais, artistas e empresários, que decidiram fazer um movimento para a renovação do Congresso Nacional", disse, complementando que o "Congresso está entregue a máfias".
