A Confederação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Brasil (CNA) avalia, em nota, que a decisão do governo federal de zerar as alíquotas de PIS/Pasep e Cofins sobre o diesel pode ajudar a mitigar os impactos da alta dos combustíveis na economia. A medida foi anunciada nessa quinta (12) pelo governo federal.
Segundo a CNA, a redução dos tributos pode contribuir para diminuir custos de produção no campo e ajudar a conter o avanço dos preços dos alimentos ao consumidor, além de aliviar pressões inflacionárias. A entidade afirma que o corte nas cobranças também tende a reduzir despesas logísticas e operacionais do setor agropecuário, especialmente em um momento considerado estratégico para a produção agrícola.
Na terça-feira (10), a confederação havia encaminhado ofício ao ministro da Fazenda, Fernando Haddad, solicitando a redução imediata e temporária das alíquotas de PIS e Cofins sobre o óleo diesel. O pedido foi motivado pelos recentes aumentos nos preços do petróleo e de seus derivados no mercado internacional, influenciados pela escalada dos conflitos no Oriente Médio.
De acordo com a CNA, o atual período é sensível para o setor agropecuário, marcado pela colheita da primeira safra e pelo plantio da segunda safra, fases em que o custo do combustível afeta diretamente as despesas de produção e a atividade econômica. Juntos, PIS/Pasep e Cofins representam cerca de 10,5% do valor do diesel comercializado no País.
