“Podemos matar a eleição no primeiro turno”, diz Valdemar
Presidente do PL aposta na senadora Tereza Cristina como a melhor opção para compor a chapa com Flávio, mas decisão não cabe a ele
"Cada um tem um palpite e não discutimos isso ainda. O meu? Tereza Cristina", afirmou Valdemar Costa Neto, presidente nacional do PL, ao ser questionado sobre sua preferência para compor a chapa com Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) na disputa eleitoral deste ano. A declaração foi feita durante o programa Frente a Frente, da Folha e do UOL, em sua edição de estreia.
O dirigente também mencionou o governador de Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo), como nome que contribuiria para ampliar votos no segundo maior colégio eleitoral do país. Ainda assim, manteve Tereza Cristina como sua indicação pessoal, citando o carisma da senadora.
Valdemar foi claro ao delimitar sua posição: "Não vou dar palpite nisso, quem vai escolher é o Flávio e o Bolsonaro".
O erro de 2022
O dirigente do PL fez críticas à campanha de reeleição de Jair Bolsonaro, em 2022, atribuindo parte do desempenho negativo entre eleitoras à ausência de uma mulher na vice-presidência da chapa. Na ocasião, o posto foi ocupado pelo general Walter Braga Netto.
"Nós teimamos, inclusive, na época, em pedir por uma mulher de vice. Porque o Braga Netto, apesar de ser um homem honesto, um homem decente, não deu um voto para ele. Todos os militares já votavam no Bolsonaro. Foi um erro total, ali foi um erro brutal. E não adiantava falar com ele", disse Valdemar.
O presidente do PL revelou que, diante das cobranças pela inclusão de uma mulher na chapa, Bolsonaro "simplesmente não argumentava". Valdemar já defendia, naquele período, a indicação de Tereza Cristina — que havia ocupado o Ministério da Agricultura entre 2019 e 2022.
A resistência à vacinação contra a Covid-19 também foi apontada por Valdemar como fator de desgaste do ex-presidente junto ao eleitorado feminino.
Em contraste, ressaltou que Flávio Bolsonaro se vacinou — e que isso representa uma diferença em relação à trajetória do pai. "Flávio tem um comportamento mais calmo. Você deve estar cansado de ouvir isso, o Flávio tomou vacina. Foi uma guerra com o Bolsonaro para ele tomar vacina", declarou.
"O Lula é inteligente, lógico que ele é"
O partido aposta em uma aliança com o PSD — agremiação que abriga os governadores Eduardo Leite (RS), Ratinho Jr. (PR) e Ronaldo Caiado (GO) como possíveis candidatos ao Palácio do Planalto — para tentar encerrar a disputa já no primeiro turno.
"Podemos matar a eleição no primeiro turno. Não tem preço isso", afirmou o dirigente durante a entrevista, que disse manter a expectativa de que o PSD abra mão de lançar um nome próprio.
Para a campanha de Flávio, Valdemar preconiza uma postura sem experimentalismos. "Fazer o feijão com arroz, não inventar moda, fazer propostas, como essa que ele está fazendo de acabar com a maioridade penal", disse. O adversário a ser enfrentado, segundo ele, será o presidente Lula: "O Lula é inteligente, lógico que ele é".
