"Ano que vem teremos mais pessoas vacinadas, no outro ano mais até a gente ter boa parte da população sem risco grave", destacou o secretário.
Segundo o chefe da pasta, o Instituto Butantan deve liberar mais 20 milhões de doses do imunizante - 2 milhões destinados a Minas - até o fim deste ano. "O público ainda é vulnerável e nós precisamos imunizar os idosos. Então, há uma expectativa que os estudos ocorram no decorrer deste ano para que a gente libere a vacinação logo".
Vacina contra a dengue
A imunização começou em Nova Lima, em 17 de janeiro. O município foi escolhido para receber o projeto-piloto nacional da vacina desenvolvida pelo Instituto Butantan, aplicada em dose única em moradores de 15 a 59 anos.
Em março deste ano, a vacinação foi ampliada para profissionais de saúde que estão na linha de frente e realizam atendimentos na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS), como médicos, enfermeiros, técnicos de enfermagem, agentes comunitários e profissionais administrativos.
Ao todo, foram mais de 82 mil doses da vacina distribuídas pelos municípios de Minas. A meta estipulada pelo Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI) é alcançar 90% de cobertura vacinal do público alvo.
