Ele foi identificado como Henrique Cardoso de Araújo, 39, e estaria alcoolizado durante uma discussão de trânsito. Ele também é acusado de colidir o veículo com um caminhão estacionado na rua. Com o impacto, os três veículos pegaram fogo.
A Polícia Militar do Ceará informou que o suspeito colidiu intencionalmente contra o motociclista de 30 anos, que caiu ao chão, lesionando a mão e o pé. Após a ocorrência, ele foi conduzido ao 7º Distrito Policial e colocado à disposição da Justiça.
Conforme a decisão do Poder Judiciário, o autuado conduzia o automóvel com a capacidade psicomotora alterada em razão do uso de álcool. Consta ainda que, após o impacto inicial, ele prosseguiu dirigindo o veículo, arrastando a motocicleta por alguns metros, até colidir com outro automóvel.
Segundo a juíza responsável pela decisão, a conduta do autuado é "reprovável", mas, como o homem é réu primário e tem bons antecedentes, foi recomendada adoção de medidas cautelares e concedida a liberdade.
Entre as medidas cautelares impostas pela Justiça estão: comparecer mensalmente à Coordenadoria de Alternativas Penais, para justificar suas atividades e receber orientação psicossocial, além da proibição de qualquer tipo de contato com a vítima.
Também foi imposto que o autuado deve comunicar eventuais mudanças de endereço e que ele não deve se ausentar de Fortaleza por mais de oito dias sem autorização judicial.

A colisão ocasionada após o autuado arrastar a motocicleta até se chocar com um caminhão causou um incêndio que atingiu três veículos em via pública no bairro Montese.
Imagens foram feitas por testemunhas no local. Em um dos vídeos compartilhados nas redes sociais, é possível ver os dois carros e a motocicleta em chamas. Uma equipe do Corpo de Bombeiros foi acionada e conseguiu controlar o fogo.
De acordo com a corporação, houve perda total do automóvel modelo Cronos e da motocicleta modelo Bros 160. O caminhão sofreu danos no baú, na região traseira e na lateral dianteira esquerda.
