Nearly 40 million Brazilians have already filed their 2026 income tax returns — about 5.1 million still have until 11:59 PM today (Friday 29) to avoid penalties. The Federal Revenue Service received 39,931,697 returns by the early hours of today, representing 88.5% of the 44 million expected this year.
