2 sources · 06 May 2026 · Share coverage ·

Eduardo Bolsonaro announced he will be first alternate on André do Prado's ticket for the São Paulo Senate in the 2026 elections. The announcement was made in a video on social media after Tarcísio de Freitas confirmed Prado as Senate candidate.

Eduardo Bolsonaro has been in the United States since February 2025 and refuses to return while investigations are ongoing at the STF, preventing him from running as a titular candidate for the Senate. André do Prado is the current president of the São Paulo Legislative Assembly and is part of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas' ticket for the 2026 elections.
