President Lula returned to Brasília on Sunday (26th) after staying a few days in São Paulo for two medical procedures. On Friday (24th), he underwent a cauterization on his head to remove basal cell carcinoma and an infiltration to treat tendinitis in his right thumb.

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of cancer that originates in basal cells, located in the deepest layer of the epidermis. According to Dr. Roberto Kalil, who treats the president, Lula would resume activities two days after the procedures.
