A 13-year-old teenager killed two staff members and injured two people in a shooting at Instituto São José in Acre on Tuesday (5). The Education Minister ordered the deployment of a team from the School Protection Program to the state after speaking with the governor.
The School Protection Program was created in 2024 with the objective of strengthening education networks' capacity to prevent and address school violence. The team being sent to Acre specializes in crisis situations and extreme violence, providing psychosocial support to school communities affected by violence.
