Rio de Janeiro Prosecutor's Office charges Marcinho VP, wife and son with criminal organization and money laundering

The Rio de Janeiro Prosecutor's Office charged Comando Vermelho leader Márcio Santos Nepomuceno (Marcinho VP), his wife Marcia Gama Nepomuceno, son Mauro Nepomuceno (Oruam) and nine other people with criminal organization and money laundering. Civil Police executed arrest warrants and search and seizure orders against those charged this week.

Márcio Santos Nepomuceno, known as Marcinho VP, is a leader of Comando Vermelho who maintains influence in the criminal organization even after more than 20 years in a maximum security federal prison. The charges structured the organization into four units, including incarcerated leadership, family unit, operational support and operational leadership in the communities.
