The Abreu e Lima Refinery in Pernambuco produced 385 million liters of S-10 diesel in April, setting a new record. The result surpasses the previous mark of 373 million liters recorded in July 2016. Petrobras attributes the increase to an expansion project completed in 2025.
The Abreu e Lima Refinery underwent a Review and Expansion project completed in 2025, which increased its processing capacity to 130 thousand barrels per day. Petrobras plans to invest R$ 12 billion to complete the refinery's Train 2, which will allow it to reach 260 thousand barrels daily by 2029.
