US President Donald Trump on Sunday (10) rejected Iran's response to the American proposal to end the 10-week war in the Middle East, classifying the terms as "totally unacceptable" via Truth Social. "I just read the response from the so-called 'Representatives' of Iran. I didn't like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!", Trump wrote, according to Agência Brasil.

"Acabei de ler a resposta dos chamados "Representantes" do Irã. Não gostei — TOTALMENTE INACEITÁVEL! Agradeço a sua atenção a este assunto", diz a publicação."

Iran had sent a 14-point response to the US 9-point proposal through Pakistani mediation, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency. The Iranian response — which according to the country's state media focuses on "ending the war and ensuring maritime security" in the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz — demands suspension of US sanctions on oil for 30 days and ending the naval blockade.

"Iran has submitted a 14-point response to a US proposal on ending the war through a Pakistani intermediary, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Saturday. Tasnim said the Iranian reply addresses a nine-point US proposal and focuses on "ending the war."

The war began on February 28, 2026, when US and Israeli forces launched large-scale attacks against Iran, hitting nuclear, military and civilian sites, according to Al Jazeera. The conflict expanded throughout the Gulf region, with Iran retaliating against all six Gulf Cooperation Council members, as well as Iraq, Jordan and allegedly a British military base in Cyprus.

According to May data, the conflict has resulted in at least 3,468 deaths in Iran, 2,702 in Lebanon, 26 in Israel, 13 US soldiers, 118 in Iraq and dozens in other Gulf states, according to Al Jazeera's tracking. Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz — through which about one-fifth of global oil exports pass — leading Trump to announce "Operation Freedom" to guide ships trapped in the Gulf, while Iran threatens to attack vessels attempting to use the strait without Revolutionary Guard permission.
