Banker Daniel Vorcaro treated payments for the "Dark Horse" film about Jair Bolsonaro as absolute priority after pressure from Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), according to messages disclosed by The Intercept on Tuesday (2). "This is the most important by far. Can't fail anymore," Vorcaro wrote to his brother-in-law Fabiano Zettel on January 28, 2025, when he had R$ 55.5 million in pending payments and Banco Master faced liquidity difficulties.

"Esse é o mais importante disparado"

The priority shift occurred days after businessman Thiago Miranda relayed a message from Flávio demanding faster payments. "Hey Thiago, I'm writing at the request of our film people for you to push the investor's legal response," the senator wrote on January 20, adding that the screenwriter was contracted only until that month. According to documents obtained by The Intercept Brasil, US$ 10.6 million (R$ 61 million) were transferred from company Entre Investimentos e Participações to the Havengate Development Fund LP in Texas between February and May 2025, in six banking operations.

"Fala Thiago, te escrevo a pedido do pessoal do nosso filme pra vc dar um gás na resposta do jurídico do investidor. Sei que vc não tem ingerência lá, mas acho que vale uma cobrada para que tenham um prazo final para fazer. Lembrando que estamos com o roteirista amarrado até janeiro só"

"Of that committed amount, $10.6 million ($61 million reais) had already been routed between February and May 2025 in six bank operations. The pathway ran through the company Entre Investimentos e Participações to the Havengate Development Fund LP, registered in Texas"

The total agreed for the film reached US$ 24 million (R$ 134 million at the exchange rate of the time), according to Intercept reporting published on May 13. Flávio initially denied any participation of Vorcaro's resources in the project, but later admitted the contributions, classifying them as "a son seeking private sponsorship for a private film about his own father's story." The Federal Police investigates whether part of the money was diverted to fund Eduardo Bolsonaro's stay in the United States, since the STF had blocked accounts and made it difficult to receive resources in the country.

Vorcaro and Zettel are imprisoned by order of Minister André Mendonça of the STF, in an investigation related to Banco Master. The PF director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, defended on Tuesday the opening of a new inquiry to investigate transfers abroad, citing "eventual support from people abroad who are conspiring and articulating against Brazil."
