The Supreme Court's First Panel formed a majority this Friday (14) to uphold the Electoral Court's decision to revoke the mandate of state deputy Rodrigo Bacellar (União). The vote stands 3-0, with only Justice Cármen Lúcia's vote pending.
Rodrigo Bacellar was convicted by the TSE in March for abuse of political power in the 2022 elections, in the same case that led to the conviction of former governor Cláudio Castro. The conviction was based on the use of irregular temporary contracts at Fundação Ceperj and UERJ to pay electoral campaign workers.
